The Original Regimental Rolls

When the Regiment was formed in July 1940, details of the men enlisting were hand written in a foolscap size ledger, referred to as the Regimental Roll. At a subsequent date, unknown to the Association, a hand written copy of the original Regimental Roll was made. When the current Committee assumed responsibility for the Association in 2008, it inherited both copies of the Rolls, which were in a poor condition as a consequence of their age, insect damage and water damage.

The Committee arranged for the Rolls to be photocopied so that they could be used as reference documents and to avoid causing any further damage to the fragile original Rolls – it is these photocopies that have been uploaded to the website.

The Rolls were digitised in 2009 and an explanation of the process involved in compiling the digital Rolls may be found under Regiment Members / The Regimental Roll on our website.

The original hand written Regimental Rolls were officially passed to the Australian War Memorial as a legal deed of gift in 2017.

Following are links to pdf versions of the Regimental Rolls compiled as part of the enlistment process commencing in July 1940 and continuing throughout WW2 until such time as the Regiment was disbanded. The Rolls have been uploaded here for your convenience.
