Annual Reunions

The Association has conducted an Annual Reunion since it was established in 1945.

In the years immediately following the war, the reunions were usually held in Artillery Drill Halls or RSL Halls, were attended by up to 300 members and were conducted separately from the Annual General Meeting.

Over time, the numbers attending the Annual Reunions slowly fell until in the early 1990’s the attendees fell to approximately 100.

In recent years, the Annual Reunion has taken the form of a sit down luncheon held in conjunction with and immediately following the Annual General Meeting to reflect both the dwindling numbers of original Regiment members and their advancing age.

The introduction of the Remembrance Group in 2008 has seen a positive and welcome increase in the number attending the Annual Reunion with the number of attendees doubling since 2007.

For many years, up to and including 2004, the reunions were held at Air Force House in Cromwell Avenue, but more recently, and since 2008, have been held at the centrally located RACV City Club on the Saturday prior to ANZAC Day.

Photographs taken at the Annual Reunion and the ANZAC Day March are included on the web site under “Photo Gallery”.
