Officers

The 2nd / 3rd Australian Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment was comprised of three Batteries when it was raised - the 7th, 8th and 9th Batteries.

When it was initially raised, the Regiment was commanded by Lt. Col. John W Rhoden with Capt. AF Young as Adjutant, Capt. Alan Michaelis as the Quartermaster and Capt. PG Hayes as the RMO.

 

The Commanding Officers of each Battery were:

  • 7th Battery Major JA Hipworth
  • 8th Battery Major PW Stokes
  • 9th Battery Major CL Hughes-Hallet
  • Signals      Lieutenant NW Traynor
  • Workshops Lieutenant CR Massina

In addition to Captains AF Young and PG Hayes, a further three Captains were assigned to the Regiment. They were:

Capt. BA Baglin (7), Capt. FH Jorgensen (8) and Capt. AG Margetts (9).

To complete the Officer roll call, there were 22 Lieutenants attached to the Regiment. They were:
